At their November 2018 meeting the Council of Faiths awarded a number of grants.
Seven Applications for Grants had been received. The chair stated that from a decision made at a previous Meeting, a total of up to £3000 would be disbursed in a given financial year.
Following a discussion, the following were agreed :
University of the Third Age (seeking, initially, £100) – to be awarded £200 for visits to places of worship, and for hire of venues for Meetings.
St. Frideswide’s Church (seeking £500) – to be awarded £100 towards their subscription for Citizens:mk, based on the type of area that the church works in.
Voice of Al-Husain (seeking £500) – to be awarded £500 for their ‘Annual InterFaith Walk for Peace and Humanity’.
MK University Hospital (seeking £2000) – to be awarded £1000 for refurbishment of the Chapel. They will be invited to apply again next year.
Truby’s Garden Tea Room (seeking £2000) – to be awarded £500 to support their ‘Great Get Together Iftar 2019’.
Weaving Trust (seeking £2000) – to be awarded £500 towards organising eight Weaving Trust events with different faith groups. They will be invited to apply again next year.
MK Islamic Arts and Culture (seeking £2270) – this was not considered in the Award Round as their event had already been launched.
From the above, the amount awarded totalled £2800.
