Tensions in India and Pakistan
Waqas Ahmad
Faith communities across Milton Keynes are united in concern about the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Our Chair Cllr Waqas Ahmad has made the following statement on behalf of the Council of Faiths:
Statement of Peace from the Council of Faiths Milton Keynes
In light of the rising tensions and the potential for conflict between Pakistan and India, we, the Council of Faiths Milton Keynes, extend our heartfelt concerns for peace and understanding.
Milton Keynes is a diverse community, home to individuals and families from various backgrounds, cultures, and faiths. We recognize that the impacts of international conflicts can resonate deeply within our local communities, stirring emotions and fears.
As we stand together in solidarity, we urge all members of our community to embrace dialogue, compassion, and mutual respect. Let us remember that our strength lies in our unity and diversity, and that peace begins with each of us.
We encourage everyone to engage in conversations that promote understanding and to support one another, especially those who may feel vulnerable during these times. Together, we can foster an environment of peace, tolerance, and hope.
May we strive for a future where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and understanding, and where love and empathy prevail over division and strife.
In peace and unity,
Waqas Ahmad
Chair, Council of Faiths Milton Keynes
