At the June 2017 AGM it was decided that some of the excess money in the bank should be spent on projects that enhance faith relations.

A process was set up and bids considered.

Although it was decided that in future years up to £3,000 would be awarded in grants, with individual grants not normally being in excess of £2,000, it was decided to make an exceptional award this year to the Buddhist Temple.

It was agreed that an award be made towards the Peace Pagoda project. This is a project to replace the marble square in front of the Peace Pagoda.

It was agreed to award up to £10,000 on a match funding basis, and that the offer would be limited to 3 years.

A plague recognising the support of the Council of Faiths would be requested and a second bid in the future would be considered.
