At the March 2019 meeting of the Council of Faiths there was a presentation about the 'Big Iftaar Project'.

Kurshida Mirza and Linda McCommie from the Truby’s Garden Tea Room presented.

They are here to inform us about the “Great Get Together – Iftaar 2019”.

Truby’s is an interfaith café run by Muslim women, Kurshida is a Sunni Muslim, and was founded in 2014.

They don’t have a building – it is a ‘pop up’ café.

It is to initiate contact between Muslims and non-Muslims.

People are charged for the food and the money is donated to local and international projects, eg The Red Cross and Refugees Welcome.

What is Iftaar?
