The Council of Faiths is empowered to:
Represent the views, needs and concerns of the Milton Keynes faith community in both local and national arenas, which includes acting as a consultation mechanism for Milton Keynes Council, Milton Keynes Local Strategic Partnership and other partners.
Provide advice on matters of faith and religion to public, private and voluntary organisations in the city.
Co-ordinate, acting as the main point of contact for central/local government funding opportunities, and assist in the allocation of resources paying particular attention to the needs of faith communities in Milton Keynes. 1.2.4 Capacity building, enabling collective action on areas of mutual concern, facilitating participation where necessary, and building capacity for faith communities to have fuller engagement and greater influence in the civic and social life of the city.
Enable forums of dialogue in the safe environment in which frank and open discussion can foster the development of amiable relationships between religions represented on the Council of Faiths.
Initiate multi-faith programmes that will foster good relationships between represented bodies of the Council of Faiths and increase community cohesion for the general well-being of the people of Milton Keynes.
